The Shasta County Ombudsman also conducts investigations into complaints regarding a wide array of issues, including abuse, neglect and issues pertaining to residents’ rights and the quality of care. Statewide Listing of Ombudsman Offices Department of Health Services Licensing and Certification Office When a nursing home abuse complaint is filed in Shasta County, the Department of Health Services Licensing and Certificate Office typically will conduct an investigation within ten days. In emergency situations, investigations may be conducted within 24 hours.
