The Imperial County long-term care Ombudsman advocates for residents in long-term care facilities in Imperial County. He/she investigates complaints regarding a wide array of issues, including abuse, neglect and issues pertaining to residents’ rights and the quality of care.

Department of Health Services Licensing and Certification Office
When a nursing home abuse complaint is filed, the Department of Health Services Licensing and Certificate Office generally will conduct an investigation within ten days. In emergency situations, investigations may be conducted within 24 hours.
Adult Protective Services (APS)
The Imperial County APS conducts investigations into reports of abuse of seniors and vulnerable adults in Imperial County.
California Department of Aging (CDA)
The CDA provides Imperial County seniors with various services that include counseling, in-home services, case management, and more.
California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform (CANHR)
