Nevada County Ombudsman Office
The Nevada County long-term care Ombudsman monitors the quality of care received by long-term care residents of Nevada County. The Ombudsman conducts investigations into complaints regarding a wide array of issues, including elder abuse, neglect and issues pertaining to residents’ rights and the quality of care.

Department of Health Services Licensing and Certification Office
When a nursing home abuse complaint is filed in Nevada County, the Department of Health Services Licensing and Certificate Office typically generally conducts an investigation within ten days. In emergency situations, investigations may be conducted within 24 hours.

Adult Protective Services (APS)
The Nevada County APS office conducts investigations into reports of elder abuse in Nevada County. In addition, APS provides such services as emergency shelter and counseling for victims of abuse.
